Background & Context
Kenya’s food systems are increasingly affected by interconnected global and local shocks — climate variability, biodiversity loss, land degradation, rising input costs, and geopolitical disruptions to supply chains.
Agroecology offers a transformative response. Anchored in the One Health approach, it promotes integrated solutions that enhance livelihoods, restore ecosystems, and strengthen resilience across human, animal, and environmental systems.
The symposium aligns with Kenya’s National Agroecology Strategy for Food Systems Transformation (2024–2033) and supports its transition from policy development to implementation at national and county levels.
